Ornio organizes tailored bird watching trips and longer tours in Finland, Varanger fjord and Georgia in Caucasus.

In Eastern Finland you can find an interesting combination of bird species from Siberian Taiga forests, bird rich wetlands and huge lakes. And all this is quite small area. Taiga forests are home to species like Capercaillie, Black Grouse, Hazel Hen, Black Woodpecker, Tree-toed Woodpecker, Pygmy Owl, Tengmalm's Owl, Ural Owl, Great Grey Owl and passerines like Siberian Jay, Red-flanked Blue Tail, Rustic Bunting, Greenish Warbler and Red-breasted Flycatcher. From lush bushy meadows you might find many night singers: Corn Crakes, Blyth's Reed Warblers, Marsh Warblers, River Warblers, Grasshopper Warblers and even rare Booted Warbler and Lanceolated Warbler. In lush deciduous forests the most interesting species are White-backed Woodpecker, Icterine Warbler and Trush Nightingale. Black- and Red-throated Divers, Red-necked Grebes and Ospreys can be seen in lake-districts. Bitterns, Slavonian Grebes, Spotted Crakes, maybe even a Little Crake, Marsh Harriers and Cranes can be observed on bird-rich wetlands.

If Siberian tit, Little Bunting and Gyrfalcon are must species in your list, then we have to go more north.

Visit to Bear, Wolverine or Wolf hide can be part of your tour. If tour participants have other interests like butterflies, dragonflies and orchids, it is possible to visit sites good for those too. We offer the most flexible way to do bird-watching in Finland. Just tell us what you want to see!

Prices are per person per day (10 hours birding + meal times) and they include vat 23%. Minimum group size is 4. Excursions 1 and 2 do not include transportation. Groups bigger than 10 persons, will get 20 % discount. Prices do not include insurance.
